Schneider / Shutterstock Acronis has bolstered its Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) team with two hires, including former Nitro Asia Pacific channel director Terry Christie as lead for the region. As general manager for A/NZ, Christie will lead the vendor’s regional team to accelerate business growth, deepen partner and customer relationships and expanding the company’s presence across the region. He will also be responsible for shaping A/NZ strategy, scaling operations and driving collaboration across the region, with Acronis highlighting its plans to work with service providers in particular. Christie takes the role over from Kelly Johnson, who was picked up by Pax8 as its regional sales leader in April. In addition to Nitro, he also has worked at Aruba, Commvault, IBM, Lenovo, Samsung and Ingram Micro. Alongside Christie’s appointment is Pete Bouris as strategic partner account manager, who comes from Veeam and is focused on partner recruitment and enablement efforts in Australia. Aside from Veeam, Bouris has also worked at Arcserve, S2M Digital, Experis, LHA, Jungle Group, Rubicor Group, Commvault and TradeBeam. “Acronis is expanding in Australia and New Zealand, thanks to growing potential and strong partnerships in these countries,” said Acronis vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan and the Middle East Pasha Ershow. “These appointments reflect our commitment to invest into a strong local team that delivers innovative, AI-powered cyber protection for our partners. “With Terry and Pete onboard, we’ll continue to accelerate our business growth, which is already growing more than 40 per cent year on year, delivering AI-powered security, data protection and RMM platform.” This was helping more than 600 of its partners “address evolving cyber security challenges with confidence”, he said.
