Under the partnership, Aussie will deliver a fully managed secure SD-WAN solution backed by its Aussie Fibre product, in collaboration with Fortinet, to all of Cricket Australia’s offices and sites around Australia. According to Aussie, the solution will provide the sports organisation with centralised visibility, intelligent traffic prioritisation and advanced firewall protection. The internet and telco service provider is also set to modernise and streamline Cricket Australia’s communications capabilities, bringing in Microsoft Teams Calling for its workforce and external partners. In addition, the two organisations will work together to deliver community initiatives, which includes the Grassroots Technology fund, greater technology access for community cricket clubs and the sponsorship of a National Community Cricket Award. Aussie Broadband group chief eexecutive Brian Maher said partnership is “a demonstration of the close collaboration between Aussie Broadband and Cricket Australia’s marketing, network and sales teams”. “We couldn’t be prouder to help power Cricket Australia and the growth of cricket for the next three years,” he said. “Cricket sits at the heart of Australia’s national and cultural identity and as a proud Australian company with diverse on-shore call centres and staffers, we’re proud to power connectivity through cricket from our world-beating Men’s and Women’s international teams, right through to the sports ovals in community cricket.” Cricket Australia chief commercial offer Ed Sanders added that the partnership will involve Aussie from international cricket matches down to community initiatives. Last month, Aussie said it had moved off VMware and built a private cloud platform using SUSE solutions to create a unified, scalable cloud hosting platform as part of a major IT transformation project, with Adfinis tapped to provide support.
