This designation recognises DataMasque’s technical expertise and success in helping financial services organisations to securely and safely use sensitive data, including claims data, PCI data and other regulated financial information, across development, testing, analytics and AI environments. DataMasque already delivers for financial services customers such as Resolution Life, New York Life, ICICI Lombard and ADP, among others “With financial services being a key vertical for DataMasque, achieving the AWS financial services competency is an important recognition of our specialisation,” said DataMasque CEO and co-founder Grant de Leeuw. “It reflects the success we’ve delivered with top financial institutions and our commitment to helping them unlock the full potential of their data, without increasing risk.” With growing regulatory demands and rising AI adoption, financial services firms need solutions that protect sensitive data without slowing innovation. DataMasque is built for the complexity of financial environments, handling large-scale databases, mainframe and both on-premise and cloud environments. When adopting AI, especially for use cases such as fraud detection or risk modeling, users are facing further challenges training and testing models without exposing real customer data. In that cause, DataMasque delivers synthetically identical data that preserves logic, structure and realism without sensitive information, enabling compliant AI agent development and model fine-tuning. In 2023, Auckland-based DataMasque secured $2.7 million in funding, led by Australian venture capital firm OIF Ventures with contribution from Icehouse Ventures. De Leeuw said that investment would go towards expanding the company’s team globally and continuing to develop its solution. Since 2021, DataMasque has expanded its AWS collaboration, offering its solution via the AWS marketplace, integrating with Amazon EC2 image builder for automated deployment, participating in the AWS independent software vendor (ISV) accelerate program, and earning AWS’s Rising Star ISV partner of the year award in 2023 and finalist status in 2024.
