Shabeel Shah, ex-SentinelOne A/NZ and ASEAN channel director has moved to Obsidian Security as a senior director of partner sales Asia Pacific Japan (APJ).

In a LinkedIn post Shah wrote he leaves the cyber security vendor “after almost 3.5 years” and it had been a “phenomenal journey”.

“I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve built in that time,” he said. “Thank you to all the partners and customers that trusted in us every day.”

According to Shah, in his role at Obsidian Security he will be supporting the regional and global executives to help “partners and customers across APJ address critical control gaps around SaaS and identity security”.

“As more and more organisations adopt SaaS applications and move their most critical data to the cloud, they will need to assess the risks now more than ever before,” he said.

Obsidian Security regional executive APJ Tom Tokic told ARN that Shah will “strengthen its Australian team”.

“Based in Sydney, Shabeel brings extensive leadership experience from SentinelOne, where he led the A/NZ and later the ASEAN channel business,” he said. “His expertise will be instrumental in helping our partners and customers across APJ close critical security gaps in SaaS and identity protection.”

Tokic echoed Shah’s sentiment that as organisations increasingly adopt SaaS applications and move sensitive data to the cloud, the need to assess and mitigate these risks has never been more urgent.

This is where “channel partners will be crucial in helping customers navigate these challenges,” he said.

ARN reached out to SentinelOne about a potential replacement for Shah, however the vendor was unable to comment any further.

However, the vendor confirmed the appointment of two new channel representatives in the past three months, Samuel Chandra as channel manager A/NZ and Michelle Tran as channel business manager A/NZ.

In January ARN reported that SentinelOne has hired Brad Perriott as its area vice president for A/NZ.

He steps into the role vacated by Jason Duerden, who has transitioned to the position of area vice president of social media, to drive the company’s brand awareness strategy.

These changes came after the retirement of SentinelOne APJ area VP of channel sales Joe McPhillips in early 2025.
