Simon Oliver (Gigamon) Credit: Gigamon Gigamon has promoted its head of channel for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ), Simon Oliver, to Asia Pacific (APAC) channel sales director. After joining the security vendor over a year ago, Oliver will oversee Gigamon’s channel strategy and execution across the APAC region from Melbourne. He takes over from Kenny Tan, who was the vendor’s senior director of channel sales for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) for three years up until this month and has has since taken up director of partner and alliances for New Relic. ARN understands that Gigamon is in the process of finding a replacement for Oliver’s role. “Simon is a proven leader and a powerful advocate for our partner ecosystem and this new role reflects our continued commitment to Gigamon customers and partners in the fast-growing Asia Pacific region,” said John Giacomini, the vendor’s chief revenue officer. “As we continue to expand our footprint across the region, Simon’s experience and strategic vision will be vital in driving deeper collaboration and unlocking new growth opportunities for Gigamon and our channel.” Prior to his close to one and a half years at the vendor, Oliver also worked at Cirrus, NetApp, The Cloud Collective, Interactive, Virtual Machine Technology and IBM. Oliver added that in the current cyber security environment, strong channel partnerships are “are essential to helping customers build resilience and stay ahead of evolving threats”. “Our partners need to supply customers with the right solutions to allow them to be proactive, rather than reactive, and that is exactly what Gigamon brings to the channel,” he said.
