Australian-owned and operated Servers Australia told ARN it was focused on delivering reliable infrastructure that grows with its customers’ needs. As more clients moved toward hybrid cloud setups and more demanding workloads, Servers Australia realised it needed a storage partner who could match that pace and support its products, said its general manager of sales and marketing Rick Swancott. “We came across NetApp while assessing platforms for the next stage of our cloud and virtual data centre services,” he said. “NetApp stood out for its capabilities in data replication, hybrid cloud integration and storage efficiency. “It quickly became clear that they were the right fit.” According to Servers Australia general manager Jason Dale, it chose NetApp after a thorough three-month evaluation process involving multiple vendors in the market. “As testing and conversations progressed, NetApp emerged as the front-runner for [its] service and support,” he said. The offering stood out in several areas including robust technology stack, support infrastructure, proactive account management and partner enablement. Swancott said cloud migration sounds simple in theory, but it can get complicated quickly. “One of the big hurdles is cost not just the infrastructure, but also the people, processes and changes to how teams operate day to day,” he said.“Compliance and data security are also major concerns, especially in industries with strict regulations. Understanding where data lives, how it’s protected and who can access it becomes much more complex in a hybrid or multi-cloud setup.” Then there’s application readiness, noted Swancott, as not every workload is cloud-friendly and moving older systems without a clear plan can lead to higher costs or reduced performance.
