Managed mobility servicer provider imei has partned with US-based Phosphorus Cybersecurity to launch an extended internet of things (xIoT) service.

Named imei IoT Protect, the modular managed service is built on Phosphorus Intelligent Active Discovery. The service provider has stated it will enable safe, accurate and rapid discovery of xIoT devices on a network, such as sensors, cameras, lighting and access control systems.

According to imei, the service can identify xIoT devices on networks; automate remediation to fix misconfigurations, replace credentials and patch vulnerabilities; align xIoT devices with security policies and standards; as well as provide ongoing monitoring and management.

“As the number of connected devices continues to explode, so too does the complexity of securing them,” said imei CEO and founder Tim Fussell.

“imei IoT Protect gives businesses the visibility and control they need to protect their networks and data – without adding operational overhead.”

Phosphorus president of global field operations Brett Raphael added that the two companies are working together to help organisations “eliminate blind spots and take control of their growing xIoT environments”.
