Electrical and digital building infrastructure specialist Legrand has acquired Computer Room Solutions to boost its data centre portfolio.

Based in Sydney, Computer Room Solutions is a data centre hardware infrastructure vendor with manufacturing capabilities in Melbourne with close to 20 years of operation and nearly 80 employees.

It offers a range of related products and services including data hall ceilings, air flow containment, security caging, secure mesh walls, server racks and cabinets, design and installation, uninterruptible power supplies and ICT network connectivity.

Meanwhile, Legrand Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) has almost 750 employees and provides the design, manufacture and distribution of electrical and digital infrastructure products and solutions.

Its workforce is split among five local manufacturing facilities, one research and development centre and 12 warehouses across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

In a statement announcing the acquisition, Legrand said Computer Room Solutions’ offerings are both complementary to its existing data centre portfolio and adds new solutions to its product suite.

Legrand A/NZ managing director and CEO Palash Nandy said the acquisition highlights “our steadfast commitment to the A/NZ market and our development model in terms of targeted acquisitions that align with our core business segments, including data centres”.

This acquisition marks the third data centre-related deal for Legrand over the last 18 months, coming after its acquisitions of the New Zealand-based Mechanical Support Systems in December 2023 and the Sydney-headquartered VASS Electrical Industries in June 2024.
