IT consultancy Novon has acquired technology resourcing firm Technology People and has rebranded it to Novon on Demand.

Novon, formerly known as Xpert Consulting until 2015, was founded in 2014 and has worked with a number of high profile local businesses, including Westpac, NAB and Woolworths to name a few, and is also an approved supplier for the NSW government.

Meanwhile, the business previously known as Technology People was founded in 2011 and has placed over 2,000 individuals at a number of Australian organisations, including Qantas, Macquarie Group, the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and Rest, among others.

The deal sees Novon bring its employee count to more than 100 consultants with the acquired firm acting as an extension of the consultancy’s core data and engineering services.

This, Novon continued, will see it address “the growing market demand for more advanced, nuanced capability solutions amidst sustained investment in and demand for data and cloud technologies and the adoption of AI”.

“The acquisition and integration of Technology People’s phenomenal team will not only enhance what we can now do as a business but how we do it; unlocking new opportunities for our clients and truly expanding the opportunities we can offer our growing team,” said Novon founder and group CEO Dominic Dufaur.

The consultancy’s CTO, Chris Spring, added that it has historically operated as a boutique data consultancy and the acquisition enables it to ramp up its scale.

“The acquisition of Technology People, which attracts the best talent nationally, means we are now equipped to build teams at scale and support customers on this unique journey,” he said.
