The project involved more than 27,000 IoT SIMs to enable connectivity for restaurant and retail partner order pads and more than 100 enterprise mobile devices to support staff Credit: Menulog Optus has delivered a tailored mobility solution for on-demand delivery platform Menulog to help meet its connectivity and operational requirements. The project involved more than 27,000 IoT SIMs to enable connectivity for restaurant and retail partner order pads; more than 100 enterprise mobile devices to support Menulog staff and their national sales team; and proactive account management to ensure smooth service operations and resolving issues before they arise. “With the Optus network, uptime is 100%, and that’s what we need to keep restaurants running 24/7,” Menulog marketing director Simon Cheng said. “Connectivity is the backbone of our operations; without it, we simply can’t function. We became an essential service during the pandemic, enabling businesses to stay afloat and continue delivering to customers. And that connectivity is still important today, now that customers appreciate the value of convenient delivery.” Network reliability and connectivity is essential for the on-demand delivery platform that connects millions of customers with over 35,000 local businesses from restaurants to grocery stores, pharmacies, and retail partners. “We moved our entire staff mobile fleet to Optus with no issues—it was seamless and well-managed, giving us the confidence to focus on other projects,” Menulog IT operations team leader, Adam Kagan said. “Their account management has been fantastic; we have one dedicated contact who understands our business and often calls us before we even need to reach out.” Down the track, Menulog will also look at AI-driven improvements to enhance partner services and streamline operations, particularly as it aims to scale up. “Our business is changing rapidly, and Optus gives us the flexibility to scale up or down as needed, especially as we explore a device-less future,” Menulog finance director Michelle Japp said.
