Broadband provider Swoop has made one of its first forays into wholesale residential fibre network through a residential project in Western Australia.

Through its wholesale network infrastructure arm Swoop Infrastructure, the broadband provider has deployed fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) infrastructure to 1,000 properties in the Seacrest Estate in Geraldton.

According to Swoop, this represents an evolutionary step in its infrastructure capability, providing residential developers and regional customers with choice, performance and reliability.

Swoop CEO Alex West said the broadband provider is now able to offer high-speed, fibre-based solutions as an alternative to the incumbent players in the region.

“We’ll continue to explore more opportunities in this space while building our Swoop Infrastructure brand as the provider of choice for developers looking for greater service and value from their projects,” he said.

The Seacrest Estate rollout is also one of the first deployment led by Swoop head of infrastructure Anthony Camilleri and showcases the company’s growing investment in scalable, future-ready broadband networks.

Camilleri was hired by Swoop towards the end of 2024 as its head of infrastructure and was tasked with establishing Swoop Infrastructure as a new business unit, as well as developing Swoop Fibre retail and wholesale offerings.

He was also tasked with establishing a Fibre Broadband business unit over the next three years, partnering with industry groups and developers, and growing broadband subscriber numbers.
