Credit: Vlad Mitnovetski (Dicker Data) / Supplied Dicker Data has won appointment as a distributor for artificial intelligence data platform company Vast Data in Australia and New Zealand, effective immediately. The deal comes as Vast looks to scale-up its operations in the region and capitalise on growing demand for localised AI solutions. Dicker Data will have access to the full range of Vast solutions in both countries. Vast’s data computing platform is designed to support AI and deep learning applications by allowing organisations to manage and analyse large amounts of structured and unstructured data efficiently. A unified and scalable solution that simplifies data management, Vast claims to make it easier for businesses to harness the power of their data for AI-driven insights and discoveries. Major customers include Zoom and Pixar. Vlad Mitnovetski, executive director and chief operating officer of Dicker Data, said the company had quickly become the go-to distributor for the AI ecosystem in A/NZ. As more businesses and governments in the region looked to harness the power of their unstructured data, access to scalable unified data platforms such as Vast’s would be critical, he said. Vast also brought cost efficiency to business by eliminating legacy storage tiering and streamlining the way data was stored and managed on an all-flash disaggregated “shared everything” architecture. Vast also delivered high-speed access to data and processing, both critical to successful AI and deep learning applications. Vast solutions also worked closely with technology from other global AI technology leaders such as Nvidia. “As AI adoption accelerates across Australia and New Zealand, enterprises need a data infrastructure that is not just high-performance but also scalable, efficient and AI-ready,” said Gregg Machon, Vast’s vice-president of worldwide channels.
