WatchGuard Technologies has promoted its regional director of Australia, New Zealand (A/NZ) and the Pacific Islands Anthony Daniel to managing director for the region.

After being hired at the cyber security vendor in 2021, WatchGuard said Daniel has “played a pivotal role in accelerating regional sales growth and expanding business operations”.

In his new position, he will continue to oversee channel partner development, channel and distribution strategy, as well as revenue growth across the region.

The vendor noted that the promotion reflects its continued momentum in the A/NZ market, which it said has experienced double-digit growth and has onboarded a growing number of managed service providers (MSP).

“My focus remains consistent — working closely with our partners to deliver security that’s precise, adaptable and truly supportive,” Daniel said.

“As the A/NZ business grows, staying connected to our MSP community and ensuring our solutions deliver real value remains a top priority.”

WatchGuard Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) vice president of sales Sylvain Lejeune added that the A/NZ region has been a standout performer under Daniel’s leadership.

“As we look to the future, we remain fully committed to supporting our channel community by expanding our local presence, investing in partner enablement and delivering the resources and solutions they need to protect customers and grow their businesses,” he said.

WatchGuard added that its future focus also includes sustaining growth by enhancing its local presence and deepening its partner engagement, with it not only delivering features and functionality that MSPs need but supporting their growth through its platform.
