Credit: Equinix Data centre operator Equinix has collaborated with Zetaris to host the Australian independent software vendor’s (ISV) Modern Lakehouse AI platform on its hardware. The collaboration sees Equinix hosting the platform in its International Business Exchange (IBX) facilities and leveraging its Equinix Fabric solution. This enables Zetaris to provide automated data engineering and an AI development and deployment platform, enabling real-time connectivity to multiple data sources. Industry use cases for the platform include the comparison of clinical reports for healthcare, analysing reviews and return logs for ecommerce, identifying risky transactions in finance and diagnosing equipment failures in manufacturing. Zetaris’ platform is available for free to Equinix Fabric customers via the data centre operator’s Marketplace. “Leveraging Equinix’s global footprint and dense ecosystems of cloud and networks allows us to deliver real-time data and AI capabilities in a secure environment and scale according to our customer needs, helping customers transform operations, boost productivity and enhance customer engagement,” said Zetaris founder and CEO Vinay Samuel. Equinix Australia managing director Guy Danskine added that the data centre operator is supporting Zetaris’ “AI-powered vision through our globally connected digital infrastructure”. “Together, we’re providing the infrastructure and platform to power the future of AI – from concept to production – on a global scale. Zetaris and our customers will benefit from secure, on-demand, scalable data connectivity anywhere, showcasing the power of AI when backed by the right infrastructure,” he said. The tech industry is currently seeing the third wave of AI, said Zetaris executive director Robert Herjavec said during a media briefing about the collaboration. He is also known for appearing on the TV show Shark Tank since 2009 as one of the ‘shark’ investors. “The first wave was really the consumer and the hype cycle with ChatGPT and DeepSeek and all these other tools, but the second wave was the application wave. Now that we have it, what are we going to do with it?” he said. “Then the third wave, which we’re entering now, is the data and infrastructure wave. To take advantage of the applications and the power of AI, you have to have good data and good data today, for many companies, is stored in multiple areas. “The challenge isn’t simply about using AI or buying it off the shelf, it’s about consulting the data in a way where it’s in one place with accuracy, security, and you can get to it quickly and that’s really what Zetaris does; we allow customers to do that and take advantage and power of their AI, of their data, regardless of where it’s located.” SUBSCRIBE TO OUR NEWSLETTER From our editors straight to your inbox Get started by entering your email address below.
