Credit: Simon McKay (Infotrust) Managed security service provider (MSSP) Infotrust has added former James Cook University chief information security officer (CISO) Jan Zeilinga to its executive team. In his newly appointed role as CISO, Zeilinga will oversee the strategic direction for several of the MSSP’s technical services divisions. He will work closely with customers to help shape, drive and implement their security strategies. Infotrust CEO Simon McKay said Zeilinga’s track record and leadership made him the “perfect fit” for the team. “His wealth of experience across both public, private and enterprise sectors strengthen our ability to serve clients facing the most complex security challenges,” he said. Zeilinga brings over 25 years of enterprise expertise across the cyber security and information technology spectrum. Previous to Infotrust, he spent over two years as CISO at James Cook University, where he built a reputation for implementing robust, strategic security programs and leading strategic initiatives that safeguard critical infrastructure and data assets. He founded IDAM practice First Point Global in November 2000, which was acquired by KPMG in 2015. He then went on to as chief technology officer of cyber for KPMG and was also IAM manager at ING Australia. He is known for his deep technical knowledge and visionary leadership, mentorship and commitment to developing the next generation of cyber security professionals. This appointment marks a pivotal step in Infotrust’s mission to deliver cutting-edge cyber security services including its Australian 24/7SOC, incident response, digital forensics and cyber resilience offerings across Australia’s enterprise and critical infrastructure sectors. “Cyber security is more critical than ever and I look forward to helping our clients navigate the complex threat landscape with confidence and resilience,” said Zeilinga.
